Passap Automatic with ribber
Passap Automatic knitting Machine with Ribber Update on the Passap Automatic Ribber I had serious problems getting this ribber to work and after struggling for 3 days in the barn, I eventually discovered the problem although it still remains a very difficult ribber to insert the long curved comb. Why a curved comb design, well that is down to the Passap knitting machine which operates with a steel comb that runs the length of the machine (sinker posts in modern machines).

Passap E6000 battery update
Seven underpowered batteries via Ebay France After buying so many batteries and testing them surprisingly most were underpowered. (2.98) I had one that read with the correct power (just) at 3 volts and I had to make a decision re whether to try again. I had bought an new soldering kit and would you believe it, the soldering iron did not work - anyway I had considered changing my precious 4600 motor board on this machine (my latest consul) to an older consul as a last resor

Passap E6000 Battery
Follow up re Passap E6000 Battery install studio Sorry no new machines right now but I am on a learning curve re my Passap E6000 and the required replacement batteries. I live in France so its no easy task to order from other parts of the world and its been made more difficult since Brexit. My E6000 was playing up and who can blame it as its not used anywhere near as much as it deserves but that's the cross to bear when you are a collector of knitting machines, time is of t

The Orion Electric Knitting Machine
The Orion 2 Motor As described in the literature, a hand knitting apparatus Model 2 This lovely machine was donated and the reason I was interested was that it came with a dedicated motor and built on table, this is very unusual with vintage machines of this ilk. It’s a good job my grandson was visiting as getting this machine upstairs to the first floor of my old Breton barn was no easy task, I have seen the day when this would not have been a problem but time marches on

Singer Freestyle Electronic Knitting Machine
Singer Freestyle Electronic Knitting Machine Singer Freestyle Electronic Knitting Machine Its been a while since I tested this machine, its a lightweight bed made of alumimium and I must say this machine impresses me, as especially here in France it can be bought for very little money. It is absolutely a brain teaser of a machine that offers so many options. Like all Singer Superba electronic machines it has an odd patterning system unlike the normal electronic machines we

New addition to my Bond Collection the Elite
Recent acquisitions The Bond Elite is one of the famous Bond stable of machines, great wee machines that should not cost too much money. Its a hobby machine and as such it knits a variety of yarns. The Bond Classic was purchased by me in my early days of machine knitting to accommodate my hand spun yarn and mohair. The Bond magazines of the day offered a great variety of patterns. This one came to me in good condition and only cost 40 pounds so not a bad buy for the mon

Singer 9000 with Superbaknit install
Superba 9000 with Superbaknit Once I had paid the package arrived fairly quickly and the IBB Group in Europe company offered a discount of 100 euros – price of the package was now 290 euros, this was the reason I considered it. The original Superba 9000 Electronic Knitting |Machine is a fantastic machine but like the Brother 970 it was a huge hassle to set up. Strangely enough both these machines have inbuilt knitwear programmes so I wonder if that is what makes them so much
