Singer Big Nine

This is a basic plastic chunky hobby machine whereby you lay the yarn over the needles and then pass the carriage across.  It comes with a set of cast on combs but only 2 ie not enough to cast on over the full bed, if you want more they were sold as extras.    I wonder how the initial purchaser cast on without a great deal of hassle and it has a flimsy plastic bed.    I have quite a few of these plastic hobby machines and this one does not rate - perhaps the best of the bunch has to be a choice of two ie the Bond Classic or the Knitmaster Zippy.  The Bond and this Singer have one thing in common, they were both blessed with a wide selection of good quality pattern book publications, but all in all a bit of a boring machine.
