Turmix SV 577
The Turmix Sv 577 is a single bed machine with offering an unusual gauge of 6 mm - the date of this machine is around 1958. I have cleaned and oiled and knitted with it, its a difficult machine to cast on and has hooked plastic sinkers that are similar to the old knitmaster machines and accordingly should not require weights to knit. Like most of the Turmix machines its a pastel colour and extremely attractive however like most vintage machines it is has very basic patterning capabilities - it would have come with a set of needle selection rulers and has a holding position so tuck is possible, it also offers a fairisle capability by locking a cam so the needles can be used for a second yarn. The machine came with a great selection of patterns especially printed for this model and offers of contract knitting letters were included.
