Knitting Machine Museum
Singers's Memomatic 2400,2500 & 2600
The Singer Memomatic range of knitting machines are super looking 24 stitch punchcard models in eyecatching green or pink and ivory. They have excellent lace carriages and look as though they have never been used - now tested and they certainly do the job. These Singers work very well but must have cost a fortune to produce - metal extensions for this model are included for lace, like the Brothers, Excellent books for all models. The Singer 2600 came with a brand new ribber that will fit the rest and an added bonus - a colour changer, the major differernce between earlier and later models is the facility to do single motif with the use of cams which attach to the front of the needle bed, they have patterning mechanism on top of carriage which runs beautifully, selects needles ie similar to the Brother, but does not have the cam belt running along the back of the machine. The lace carriage works from both sides like the Brother, but the patterning mechanism reminds me of the Knitmaster, earlier versions came in loverly colours. Great set of 24 stitch punchcards are supplied. An impressive machine and still often available second-hand for very little cost.
